Robin Loner, 69, of Groom, TX died Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Groom Cemetery with Jimmy Sinyard officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Robin was born July 8, 1954, to Margaret (Crowe) and George Loner in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Groom, TX in the 1970’s.

He came from a tight-knit family, and he was described as an ornery sort.  As a kid, Robin was prone to chase his sisters with worms and such but was their protector should anyone else try to mess with them.  From an early age he loved the outdoors, and he spent many days fishing wherever he could wet a pole.  One of his favorite fishing spots was the lake at Greenbelt and he had the great fortune to fish in many lakes in Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond.

Robin began a work career as a painter, if it could be painted, he painted it.  He retired as a butcher from Circle B Meat Market in Groom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Tammy Robinson.

Survivors include his two sisters, Patricia JoAnn Ratterree and husband William, of Groom, TX, and Bonnie Maugh, of IL; his brother, Carl Silvey and wife Tonya, of Canyon, TX; and multiple nieces and nephews.
