Rose Dell Bentley, age 82, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on the morning of June 30, 2025.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Rose was born on November 19, 1942, in Wellington, Texas, to Odis and Lillie Bradley. She was raised in Samnorwood, Texas, but spent most of her adult life in Amarillo, where she worked for the City of Amarillo and later for the State of Texas as a lab technician. There, she built her family and formed many lifelong friendships.
Some of her most cherished memories were made at Possum Kingdom Lake, where she loved to fish, birdwatch, and visit with family. She also had a love for adventure and could often be found at any slot machine within reach of Texas. When she stayed closer to home, she enjoyed nights out on the town, dancing to country music and spending time with friends.
Rose never met a stranger and always treasured the time spent with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Bentley and partner Laurinda; her son, Sean Bentley and wife Teri; her granddaughters, Lauren and Gracie Bentley; her sister, Gail Stevenson; her stepchildren, Jim Devaney, Liane Scaggs, and Leon Devaney and their families; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, James Devaney; and her sisters, Anna Lou Young and husband Eugene, and Betty Moody and husband Glen.
