S.T. Jackson was born on April 18, 1926, in Bastrop, Texas, to Bennie Jackson and Otha White. He passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 99.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2026, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
In 1946, S.T. married the love of his life, Nancy Jackson. Their marriage was one of enduring devotion and partnership, spanning many decades. Together they raised six children: Samuel, Patricia, Ed Daniel, Debra, Loretta, and Carlton. Family was central to S.T.’s life, and he took great pride in his children and the legacy he built through them.
S.T. lived a life marked by dedication to family, community, and the simple joys that brought people together. He worked at Santa Fe for 30 years until he retired in 1986. As an avid golfer, he found great enjoyment and fellowship on the golf course, a pastime that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was also one of the founding members of the Pride of the Panhandle Golf Club. His greatest accomplishment on the course came in 1969, when he won the Championship Flight at the Annual Santa Fe Golf Tournament, becoming the first African-American to win that championship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha (White) Jackson and Bennie Jackson; wife, Nancy (Wilkerson) Jackson; and sons, Samuel Trent Jackson and Ed Daniel Jackson.
He is survived by his brother, Ben Jackson, four children, Pat, Debra, Loretta, and Carlton and his wife, Robin; 16 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
S.T. Jackson will be remembered for his quiet strength, loyalty, love for his family, and those around him. His life leaves a lasting imprint on his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace.
