Samuiel Zewde, a lifelong Texan, and Amarillo Native passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Sam was born in Amarillo, Texas on January 11, 1993 to Sisay Zewde and Lemlem Berhe. He lived in Amarillo until moving to the Dallas area in October of 2019. He spent over five years working in various leadership roles throughout the restaurant and hospitality industry in Amarillo and the Dallas area before his passing.
Sam was a devoted colleague, and loving friend and family member to so many. Much like Sisay, he enjoyed working on projects around the house, socializing with his friends, periodic travel in and out of the country, and he loved his work. He cared deeply about his work in the restaurant and hospitality industry and was highly regarded and respected throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He was also a beloved child of the Habesha Community in West Texas, viewed as a younger brother to everyone around him.
Sam is survived by his mother, Lemlem Berhe (56) and his brother, Daniel Zewde (34). He is preceded in death by his father, Sisay Zewde, paternal grandfather, Giday, his paternal grandmother, Silas, and his maternal grandmother, Winesh.
A memorial service is scheduled at 12pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Beata Mariam Church, 211 N Forest St.
Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at the service, or by reaching out to any of his surviving family members.
