Sandra Stafford Drost, 82, of Amarillo, Texas passed away May 7, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in the chapel at St. Stephen Church, 4600 S Western St., with Pastor Travis Bennett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Sandra was born November 10, 1941, in Clarksville, TX to Donovan and Ruth Stafford. She attended Texas Tech University where she met Kenneth Lee Drost and was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority. She and Kenneth were married on August 30, 1962.
She was a member of St. Stephen Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering for the hospital, and the church’s Mother’s Day Out class and Sunday school.
Sandra loved to paint scenery. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and even wrote two children’s books for them. Sandra always had the best jokes to tell. She also enjoyed multiple trips to the mountains, the lake house, and horse racing. Sandra had a love for her rose bushes and morning glories in her backyard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donovan and Ruth Stafford.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Kenneth Lee Drost; daughters, Debra and Bobby Guthrie and Diane and Mike Maiwald; sister, Suzanne Montgomery and spouse Mike; grandchildren, Braxton Bragg and spouse Katie, Jordan Maiwald, Jacob Maiwald, Megan Steinke and spouse Leo, and Bobby Guthrie Jr. and spouse Nikki.; great-grandchildren, Jack Bragg, Crue Bragg, Wilder Bragg, Kennedy Maiwald, Mason Steinke, Odin Steinke, Alicia Walker, Anthony Michel, Alexis Michel, Aidan Saguay, and Asher Guthrie; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alexsander Walker and Avery Walker.
