Apr 24, 1948 — Jul 13, 2026

Sandra Kay Engram, 78, of Amarillo, Texas, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, joyful hospitality, and unconditional love for her family and friends.

A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Boulevard, Amarillo, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honor Sandy’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to Gracie’s Project, www.graciesproject.com, a cause that was close to her heart.

To know Sandy was to know kindness. She lived each day with one purpose: to honor the Lord by loving and serving others. Her favorite saying, “Oh Happy Day,” wasn’t just a phrase—it was the way she chose to live. She greeted each day with gratitude, a smile on her face, and a heart that reflected the love of Christ. Her verse to live by was Nehemiah 8:10: “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”

Sandy found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and grandchildren. Whether she was gathered around the table preparing a home-cooked meal, opening her home to friends, or simply enjoying precious moments with those she loved, she made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her home was more than a house—it was a place where people found comfort, laughter, and love.

Professionally, Sandy served as the receptionist for Alera Insurance Group, formerly known as NCW Insurance, where she was affectionately known as the “Director of First Impressions.” The title couldn’t have been more fitting. Sandy believed that every person who walked through the door deserved to be greeted with warmth, kindness, and a genuine smile. She saw welcoming others not merely as a job, but as part of God’s calling on her life. Her cheerful spirit left a lasting impression on countless clients, coworkers, and friends.

If you knew Sandy, you also knew her unmistakable love for leopard print. She embraced it with joy—not only in her wardrobe but throughout her home—bringing her own unique style and fun-loving personality to everything she touched.

Sandy was also an incredible dog lover. Her beloved puppies were family, and many neighbors became familiar with the sight of Sandy briskly walking them through the neighborhood each day. They brought her endless happiness, and she cared for each one with remarkable tenderness.

Yet above all else, Sandy’s greatest passion was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She faithfully followed the Lord, devoted herself to prayer, and quietly carried the burdens of others before God. She was a true prayer warrior whose faith remained steadfast through every season of life. Her gentle encouragement, compassionate heart, and unwavering trust in God touched more lives than she could have ever imagined.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and find comfort knowing that Sandy has now heard the words of her Savior from Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your lord.” Those words beautifully reflect the life she lived—a life marked by faithfulness, compassion, generosity, and a sincere desire to glorify God in all she did.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Riley Preston Stevenson; her mother, Lois Evelyn Caudle; and her beloved son, Max Engram.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Stevenson; her sister, Debra Stevenson; her loving children, Brad Lee Dennington, Ginger Inskeep, and Cherri Johnson; her beloved sons-in-law, Clark Inskeep and John Johnson; her cherished grandchildren, Christian Johnson, Kaylin Johnson, Cadel Inskeep, Cannon Inskeep, Ashton Dennington, and Lily Dennington; along with many extended family members, dear friends, coworkers, neighbors, and all who were blessed by her generous heart.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has surrounded them with love, prayers, and support during this time.
