Sandra Lee was born August 9, 1957, to William Lee and Virginia Lee Toler in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Palo Duro High School and soon after earned her beautician’s license after attending beauty college.

On October 3, 1975, Sandy married the love of her life, Mike Propes, in Amarillo. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.

Early in their relationship, Sandy managed the beauty shop at Bivins Nursing Home until complications no longer allowed her to. From there, she assisted Mike in his automotive business. In 1977, she became mother to her precious little red headed daughter, Ginnie. She was a loyal and loving wife to Mike, was his best friend, and became a prime example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She was also a loving step mother to Cindy and Chris. Later in life, she became a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren and her great grandchild. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with all her kids and grandkids, who she loved infinitely.

She had an exceptional sense of humor and would have you laughing along with her at any given moment. She held her own when exchanging ‘comments’, especially ‘cut-ups’ with her ‘Buckethead’ son-in-law! Humor was definitely one of her gifts. She was known amongst her family for her witty comments and ‘comebacks’. She always had a funny video to share from her phone with anyone willing to watch.

She enjoyed crafts and was very good at crocheting. She was full of ‘class’ and ‘sass’ even in her toughest trials in life. She enjoyed the years she spent riding around parts of the country with Mike on their perfectly kept, red Honda Goldwing motorcycle. They were active members of the Top Wings motorcycle club for many years, a highlight in both of their lives and made many life long friends along the way.

If you knew Sandy, then you knew her love and compassion for others. Even through her various medical struggles, she could be found asking about and showing concern for others’ well being.

Above all else, her love for her Lord Jesus Christ shined in her words and actions. Her and Mike were members of Shalom Baptist Church in Amarillo.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Propes of Amarillo, daughter Ginnie Grant and her husband, David, of Amarillo; son Christopher Propes of Arizona; daughter Cindy King and her husband Rick, of Scottsdale, Arizona; a brother, Roy Toler, of Vernon, Texas; and a sister, Venita Reed; grandchildren, Bethany, Kevin, Luke, Dakota, Jonathan and Jason; and a great-grand son, Joshua.
