Sharon Lucienne Williams

Sharon Lucienne Williams, 70, left this life in the arms of our savior, Jesus Christ, after a long battle with cancer on July 10, 2026. She didn’t let that slow her down, though, she didn’t let anything slow her down. Always ready for that next outing, that next church function or that next trip. Sharon was kind and soft at heart but strong in spirit. She lived a happy and full-filling life with her family and friends who were forever at her side. She was our go-to gal, best side-kick and best friend.

Family will receive friends from 2-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Graveside service will be at 9:00 AM, Monday, July 13, 2026 at Westlawn Cemetery in Borger. Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM, Monday, July 13, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Born in Borger, Texas on November 1, 1955 to proud parents Jim and Christine Williams. Raised with 4 sisters, she was the middle child and all that it brings. She attended and graduated from the Borger school systems in 1975. While in Borger she was involved in Special Olympics. Sharon went on to attend a life skills school for the handicapped in Dallas that taught her basic skills that enabled her to live on her own. Her parents taught her the meaning of working hard and determination to succeed. All of these set her up for success and the ability to be independent. For most of Sharon’s career, she worked in the custodial sector. She worked for several businesses in both Dallas and Amarillo and retired from the VA Hospital in 2018 after 20 years of service. She loved her family intensely and was deeply committed to them. She enjoyed being around her many friends, loved both the elderly and young and always had a kind word to say to a stranger passing by. She loved many of her furry friends, and latest one, Pierre, a miniature schnauzer. To the earliest, mutt pup Droopy. There was also Romeo, her cat.

Sharon was preceded in death by father and mother, Jim and Christine Williams, baby sister Christine Denise, paternal grandparents Earl and Cecil Williams and maternal grandparents Augusta and Lucienne Fouasnon.

Survivors include sisters, brother-in-laws & best friends, Jacqualine and Bob Praeuner, Judy and Buddy Tucker, Michelle and Jud Hicks, and Laura and Scott Baker. Special friend Neal Housser. Special friends, neighbors and oh so much more, Kevin and Virginia Logan. And all of her friends at Pa and Megans Place at High Plains Children’s Home where she has lived for the last 13 years.

Her family thinks she was pretty special! For all of those that touched Sharon’s life, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We want to give special thanks to Kevin and Virginia Logan at HPCH for their dedication to the facility and to those that live there. You held a special place in Sharon’s heart and ours too that’s why we call you “family”. Sharon’s family wants to also say thank you to Jessica Turner, BSA Pallative Nurse for your dedication to service and becoming Sharon’s new best friend; Dr Tumula and Kathy Ford, NP from Texas Oncology and all of their staff for your expertise in care and making Sharon feel special. To Elise, Melissa and Erica, BSA 8th floor transfusion group – thank you for taking such good care of Sharon during her transfusions and always making sure she got her fruit parfaits!.. Thank you to Virginia Green and Lovely for making Sharon’s last days so special and taking such good care of her. Her family will remember you all for the great care and special touches to our special sister! We know she made it easy for you to do that!
