Shirley Elaine Clark Daniel

August 29, 1940 — March 22, 2026

Amarillo

Shirley Elaine Clark Daniel was born in Dallas, Texas, August 29, 1940, to HG Clark and Alma Vaudine Clark with much respect given to her stepfather, Rhea Dan Trigg, who raised her. She passed peacefully surrounded by deeply devoted loved ones on March 22, 2026.

Shirley was raised in the Casa Linda-White Rock Lake area of Dallas. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1958 where she was cheerleader and received other notable awards and honors. She attended what was previously NTSU, now UNT where she met and married Bill Daniel. The most adoring aspect of Shirley’s life was the addition of their two daughters, Christy and Laurie. However, the best gift Shirley ever received from her parents was her precious sister and best friend, Tammye Trigg Brooks.

In 1965, Bill’s job took the family to Amarillo, Texas, where she remained until her final day. Shirley enjoyed her role in life as homemaker and volunteered in many areas that brought her such great joy. She was involved in the Amarillo Junior League, Philanthropic Educational Organization, and CareNet. She was an active member of several bridge clubs whose membership spanned over five decades. Shirley was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and held a deep devotion to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister and best friend, Tammye Trigg Brooks; daughter, Laurie Ortega (Paul); daughter Christy Errington; grandchildren Dalton Lambden (Alexandria), Stephanie Corean (Nate), Reece Errington (Emily), Alice Errington, Ross Errington, and Grace Errington; two nieces, Mary Beth Cox (Ryan) and Camille Maloy and a nephew, Ben Brooks (Cindy). Shirley is also survived by a slate of great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and great-nieces and nephews who adored her and have many wonderful memories of both her kindness and spunk.

Shirley was the delight of many friends and acquaintances, many of those friendships were nurtured throughout her entire life and mutually sustained all parties through all of life’s ups and downs.
