In loving memory of Sonja ‘Jann’ Giebler, 72, of Oklahoma City, OK, and formerly of Amarillo, TX, who entered the Kingdom of Heaven on November 23rd, 2023.
Visitation will be from 6-7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Jann was a woman of remarkable beauty and unwavering faith, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her devoted husband Alvin Giebler of Oklahoma City, OK, her brother Gary Edwards of Amarillo, TX, her three children Larry Mendez Jr. and wife Kristin Mendez of Knoxville, TN, Tammy Hofmann and husband Brad Hofmann of Jarrell, TX, and Anthony Mendez and wife Shae Mendez of Las Vegas, NV.
Jann’s legacy extends through the generations, as she leaves behind six grandchildren: Tyler Mendez, Channing Mendez, Tanner Oldham, Jayden Oldham, Abby Mendez, and Brennan Mendez, joined by his spouse Aven Mendez. Her great-grandchildren Kai Mendez and Quinn Morrison further amplify the warmth and love she brought to her family. She also leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Horace Edwards, her mother Betty Edwards, her brother Tim Edwards, her twin sister Cynthia ‘Ann’ Beck, and her great-granddaughter Kaiya Mendez.
A woman of strength and grace, Jann’s deep connection to her faith was a guiding light, and her love for God mirrored the profound love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and the enduring beauty of her spirit. Proverbs 31:25
