Stella Beatrice Chavez

Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2024 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Alfonso U. Chavez; brothers, Isido Nelson and Heman Nelson; sister, Joyce Nelson Cordova; son, Jimmy David Chavez; nephew, Leroy Chavez; and her son-in-law, Len Furmanek.
Stella is survived by her sister, Agnes Nelson; her brother, Joe Lee Nelson both of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Judy Pedeliski and husband Mike of Apex, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Terry Chavez of Amarillo, TX, her son, Jake Chavez; puppy, Javier; kitty, Pedro both of Amarillo, TX; her daughter, Barbara Berna and husband Dale of Brewton, AL; and her daughter, Debbie Furmanek of Rio Rancho, N.M.
As well as 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Stella was the matriarch of our family and we cherished her wisdom and love for us. She would cook and feed our clan always with open doors. We will miss Stella's beautiful smile, her feisty sense of humor and the joy that she's brought to us all until we meet again. We know and trust that the open arms of her loved ones who passed before, were there at heaven's door to joyfully greet her.
