Steven Tobias Guzman, 57, of Amarillo, TX passed away April 3, 2026.
He was born December 8, 1968 in Dumas, TX to Carlos and Francisca Tobias Guzman. Steven graduated from Dumas High School in 1987. He joined the United States Army and was an Infantry teacher for 6 years. Following his discharge, Steven worked in the oil fields in Midland and Odessa for several years. He also sold cars. Steven loved to collect watches, playing darts, and riding his Harley Davidson. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Steven married Debbie on December 28, 2022 in Las Vegas, NV.
Steven is preceded in death by fathers, Carlos Guzman and Bill Robbins; grandparents, Isaac and Lola Tobias, and Felip and Antonia Guzman; and other relatives.
He is survived by mother, Fran Tobias Robbins; daughter, Kirrie Hoelscher and husband Chris; son, Kaden Guzman; sister, Shelly Genck and husband Jason; grandkids, Banning and Bower Hoelscher, Paityn Waldroop, Carsyn Waldroop, Cameryn Farren, and Rylee Coffman; uncle, Manuel Tobias and wife Vickie; aunts, Emily Tobias, Josie Peacock and husband Mike, Teresa Eslick and husband Lee, Teresa Tobias and cousins, and Adelia Castaneda Tobias.
Debbie Michelle Guzman, 50, of Amarillo, TX passed away April 4, 2026.
She was born December 11, 1975 in Tulia, TX to Mike and Melinda Waldroop. She was a proud graduate of Tulia High School then earned her Bachelor’s Degree followed by a Master’s Degree from West Texas A&M. She worked for WTAMU in Canyon, Pak a Sak, and the flooring department at Lowes.
Debbie is survived by her sons, Corey Waldroop and Kaden Guzman; daughter, Kirrie Hoelscher; daughter-in-law, Alexsus Farren; grandkids, Banning and Bower Hoelscher, Paityn Waldroop, Carsyn Waldroop, Cameryn Farren, and Rylee Coffman; sister, Bobbie Waldroop; uncles, Craig Simmons and Bently Simmons; aunt, Renee Simmons; and cousins.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Messiah’s House, 6901 Bell St. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM, in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
