Steven Ray Hawthorne

Steven Ray Hawthorne, 67, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026.

Steven was born on September 2, 1958, in Memphis, Texas, to Vernon and Bettye Hawthorne.

Steven was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He especially cherished the time he spent outdoors with his son, Todd. Whether they were hunting or fishing, those moments together created memories that will be treasured for generations. His love for his family was evident in the time he invested with those he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Bettye Hawthorne; his stepfather, Junior Fronterhouse; and his brother, Gordon Hawthorne.

Steven is survived by his daughters, Brandi Hawthorne and Jamie Hawthorne; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Brittany Hawthorne; his brother, Rick Hawthorne; and the grandchildren who brought him endless pride and joy: Braelon Phillips and Kynlee Hawthorne; Macey Huizar, Dasia Harlie, Kenahdi Houston, Emrie Houston, and Miles Houston; and Emilee Bullard, Griffin Hawthorne, and Grayson Hawthorne.

Steven will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of the outdoors, and the special bond he shared with his family. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
