Susan Gail Williams

July 26, 1964 — November 1, 2025

Amarillo

With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Susan Gail Williams, of Amarillo, on November 1, 2025. Susan was born in Dumas, Texas, on July 26, 1964, to Ray and Doralynn Davis.

The youngest of ten children, Susan grew up surrounded by love and laughter. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1984, the same year she married John Pate. Together, they made their home in Dumas and raised their two children, Veronica and Joshua. The family later moved to Spring, Texas, where Susan worked as a Pharmacy Technician. In 1997, they relocated to Amarillo, where John courageously battled cancer until his passing.

In 1998, Susan found love again when she met Mark Williams. The two married in 2001 and were blessed with a son, Jake, in 2004.

Coming from a large family, it was no surprise that Susan had a gift for caring deeply about others. Her home and her heart were always open. Whether through a phone call, a quick text, or a long visit, Susan made sure her loved ones knew they were thought of and cherished. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and found her greatest joy in spending time with them and sharing stories, photos, and videos of their lives.

Susan was preceded in death by her first husband, John Pate; her parents, Ray and Doralynn Davis; her brother Joe Davis; and her sister Diana Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Williams; her children, Veronica Lichtie and husband Brandon, Joshua Pate and wife Courtney, and Jake Williams; her siblings, Larry Davis, Evelynn Yerger, Mark Davis and wife Rissa, Carla Nuss and husband Dane, Tony Davis and wife Stephanie, Tammy Sova and husband Scott, and Donielle Faucett and husband Rick. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren—Easton, Nolan, Roukland, Lainey, and Tallulah—along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

Susan’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX.
