Sylvia Lyn Frazer

Sylvia Lindley Frazer, 82, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. 

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Polk Street Methodist Church with Reverend Katie Hill officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Sylvia was born in Dallas on December 31, 1943 to Swift and Ruby Lindley. Sylvia spent her early years on a farm in Ashtola Texas. She then attended Bivins Elementary, Austin Junior High School, and Amarillo High School. She graduated with the AHS Class of 1962.

Sylvia married the love of her life, Dick Frazer, in 1962. She worked as a home maker for the next two decades. Dick and Sylvia were married for fifty-two years until Dick passed away. She was a Jedi Master at making up 20 grilled cheese sandwiches during the Tascosa lunch shifts. In 1984, Sylvia began her career as an insurance agent. She worked as the co-owner Dick Frazer Insurance for many years.

Sylvia was an avid gardener. She grew bountiful flowers and vegetables. She loved sharing her prayer garden with visitors. She was an exceptional cook who often wrote her own recipes. Sylvia was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Amarillo. During her volunteer service she was active in bringing 911 to Amarillo, and the initiative to teach all 9th graders CPR with a resuscitating Annie. She was also a member of PEO, Chapter CM.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Frazer, her parents, Swift and Ruby Lindley, and her sister, Cynthia Rittenberry.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Frazer and her son, Tyler Frazer and wife Rachel Frazer all of Amarillo; Grandchildren McCall Frazer, Maitlyn Frazer, Bauer Frazer and fiancée Nicole DeFreitas, Ryan Starker, Mason Fry, Evan Fry, Karsen Fry, and Max Harmon; two great-grandchildren Cody Frazer and Felix Frazer; nieces and nephews, David Rittenberry, Charlie Rittenberry, Molly Frazer, Jeff Frazer, and Robert Frazer.

The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street Methodist Church or the Amarillo Food Bank.
