Teresa Villegas

August 3, 1960 — June 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa Villegas, our beloved mother and grandmother, affectionately known as Nana/Grandma, who left us peacefully on June 25, 2025 at home in Sunray, Texas. She was born on August 3, 1960, in Henderson, Nevada to John Thomas and Vera McCallister.

She was a devoted mother to her children but her true calling was being a cherished grandmother. She had a gentle soul and forgave often. She was a lover of slots and bingo and never had it in her heart to drive past a casino. She was not a normal grandma, she was a cool grandma. She loved the color orange. She lived for true-crime and court tv. Her legacy lives on in her three sons, Troy Wells, Travis and Shannon Simmons, and C.J. Villegas of Sunray and her daughter, Mary, and Michael Kruger of Amarillo, and twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchild who will forever carry her love in their hearts. She is also survived by her sisters Jenine Mirza, Tammy, and Corrina and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kristi Simmons, whose memory she held close every day. She was also preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, and a great-grandchild.

Nana had a gentle soul and a nurturing heart. Her door was always open, her advice always honest, and her hugs always healing. She will be missed more than words can say.

A private memorial will be held with close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones close, just as she always did.
