Viki Jane Massey

Viki Jane Massey, 75, of Amarillo, TX passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Visitation with the family from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. The service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.

Viki was born on January 5, 1950, in Amarillo, TX, as the only child of Vernon and Marilyn (Cornelius) Van Ausdall. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1968 and just four weeks later, on June 7, she married Dennis Massey at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

She was life-long friends with Cal Farley and the Harriman family. Viki worked as an administrative assistant at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch for her entire career. Outside of work, she enjoyed collecting antiques, painting, and cooking for her family. Family was everything to her, and she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Viki loved the Lord and found joy in sharing Bible scriptures with her family.

As the matriarch of the family, Viki thrived in her role and wasn’t afraid to take charge. She had the "Cornelius Disposition," which meant she was strong-minded, spirited, and feisty; you always knew where you stood with her. Her home was always open to everyone, and if you weren't family, she made you feel like one. Viki had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She truly embodied the phrase "small but mighty."

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Massey; children, Angela Jane Pruitt and husband Keith, and Justin Massey and wife Cassandra; grandchildren, Emily Jane Pruitt and fiancé Mason Smith, Aaron Pruitt and wife Lexi, Alex Massey, Madison Varela and fiancé Bowen Davis, Marcos Varela, and Charles Knight; two great-grandchildren, Natalia Pruitt and Ola-Rose Jane Pruitt-Smith; and two cousins, Karen Jane Shepherd and Linda Thomas.
