Vinona Faye Bennett

Vinona Faye Bennett, 90, of Amarillo, TX passed away December 11, 2025.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 18, 2025 at South Georgia Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Vinona was born November 18, 1935 in Armstrong County, TX to Wayne Hansard and Eva Marshall. She graduated from Hedley High School in 1954 and worked for Southwestern Bell for 27 years. She owned and operated Greenbelt Cleaners in Clarendon, TX. Vinona was a forgiving and gracious woman. She loved being a grandmother. Vinona was a longtime member of South Georgia Baptist Church. Vinona had a strong bond with her sisters and would talk to them every day!

Survivors include a son, Gerry Bevers of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Donna Rhea and husband John of Amarillo, TX; 3 sisters, Glenda Kay Cook of Portales, NM, Barbara Stiles of Georgetown, TX, and Pat Ruddy and husband Neil of Amarillo, TX; 2 brothers Don Hansard and partner Jewel Perry of Derby, Kansas and Wendell Hansard and partner Sandy Weeks of Centerville, Texas six grandchildren, Christopher Gray, Micah Henderson, Marca McCallie and husband Charlie, Christian Bevers and fiancé Diana Cerda, Erika Rhea Diaz and husband Adrian and Matthew Rhea; and great-grandchildren, Aspen, Colt, Sierra and Blaise McCallie, Greyson Diaz and Feona Rhea.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Eva Hansard, a daughter, Brenda Gay Gray; a son, Larry Glen Bevers; and grandchild, Akysha Ardell Gray, and a sister Wanda Ann Richards.
