Wanda Loretta Jones

It is with much sadness that we share, Wanda Loretta Jones, 80, of Amarillo, Texas, left us to go home to Jesus Thursday, May 15, 2025. Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with G.A. Roach, Chaplain, Officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Wanda was born June 28, 1944, in Floresville, Texas. She received her perfect and complete healing on May 15, 2025, the day she ascended to be with the Lord.

She grew up and attended schools in Amarillo. She worked as a bookkeeper at Time Chemical until her retirement. She met James Edward Jones in Amarillo, and they were married September 16, 1975. She was a selfless, loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and GG, whose passion and dedication was nurturing her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Myrtle Mayes; husband, James Edward Jones; son, Danny Lee James; and brothers, Willard Calvin Randell and James Paul Randell.

She is survived by her son, Willard James (Karla) of Seminole, OK; daughter, Kippy Vallejo; granddaughters Brittany Baker (Jeff) and Adrianna Vallejo (Cody); sister, Shirley Vessel, all of Amarillo; brother, Mitchel Randell of Gore, OK; grandsons Jake James (Kelli) and Nate James (Renee’), of Okemah, OK; Travis Bishop of Durham, North Carolina; Jaden James and Peyton James, both of Kansas City, Missouri; and 7 great grandchildren.

She will be forever missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is in the arms of her Father in Heaven.
