Winona Juett White, age 93, of Amarillo peacefully entered heaven's gate on May 29, 2025
Winona was the first-born child to Bill and Irene Juett on May 8, 1932, on a family homestead farm East of Amarillo. After graduating from Amarillo High School, she married the love of her life Jim White on October 24, 1950. Winona dedicated her life to family support through Jim's many careers and the many activities of her children, most notably many years as a Girl Scout leader. She managed much of the home-life of her three children (Anita, Doug, and Amy) with all graduating college as education was a priority for her. Jim and Winona thoroughly enjoyed their time fishing, and she took great humor when she caught more than him. Always a pet person, she was mom to many dogs that were so close to her heart. In addition to family, her love was creating art on various painting mediums. Her artistic pride was her oils - everything from dainty flowers on porcelain to large canvases. She enjoyed her art club activities that led to a business teaching art classes. Her membership in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority provided life-long friendships.
Winona is survived by daughter Anita and Duane Harp, son Doug and Donnice White, son-in-law Barry Gilbert, grandchildren Matt (and Michelle) Harp, Joe Bob (and Jaime) Harp, Chris (and Lauren) White, Lauren (and Josh) Belcher, Jeremy (and Emily) Gilbert, and Stephen (and Becky Widener) Gilbert. She was blessed with 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Bobbie Rinehart plus nieces Debbie Williams and Melanie (and Cy) Allen.
She was preceded in death by Jim in 2019 after 68 years of marriage, parents Bill and Irene Juett, daughter Amy Gilbert, and granddaughter Allison Looper.
Services will be June 14, 2025 at Polk Street Methodist Church at 10:00 AM where friends and family are encouraged to participate in her celebration of life. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
