Zachary Coy McPherson, 28, of Amarillo, TX died Monday, July 14, 2025, in his home.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Pastor Doug Gehm officiating.

Zachary was born April 15, 1997, in Amarillo, TX, to Clinton and Ranea McPherson. Since he was a child, he was a freestyle BMX rider. He grew up and hung out with his best friend and cousin, Eric, who was like his brother. As a teenager, he attended the youth group at Grace Church, where he was saved.

Following graduation from Amarillo High School in 2015, he went to work for Tyson where he earned his role as a lead person. Zachary was driven to succeed and at the end of his Tyson career he put himself through CDL school and was interested in starting a contracting business.

Zachary loved to play all types of games, from darts to pool, and other family games, Zachary enjoyed them all. He was a great friend, very social, the life of the party, and outgoing. Zachary had many, many friends, which he was always willing to help out. He had a great sense of humor, which was sometimes sarcastic, and he just loved giving everyone a hard time. Zachary was happiest when friends and family were together.

He had a special connection and relationship with his mom. He never had to wonder whether or not she loved him, and neither did she. They loved one another unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Clinton R. McPherson.

Survivors include his mom, Ranea McPherson, of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Destinee McPherson of Amarillo, Jennifer Wood (Dana), of Walkertown, NC, Clay McPherson (Gladys) of Amarillo, and Kendra Espinosa (Edward) of Amarillo; nieces and nephews, Joel, Kaden, Callie, Creed, Lea, Jordan, Madelyn, Jason, Kelsey, Tanner, and Roni Jae; his cousin, Eric Bonner, whom he considered a brother; cousins, Alexis, Hannah, Jeremy, and Bradley; and his aunts and uncles, Annie-Lynn, Chach, and Jacquelyn; many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
