Heavenly Kaye Lamb, 55, of Amarillo, TX died on October 27, 2019.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Rev. Dede Schuler Ballou officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Heavenly Kaye Lamb was born August 10, 1964, to Elvin and Angela Lamb. She is survived by her parents and one brother, Clarence Lamb of Houston, Texas. She was the granddaughter of Pauline Mae Teague Webb, and Roy and Alta Lamb, all deceased. She was loved and cherished by an extended family of Lambs and Teagues, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Heavenly was born intellectually challenged. She was one of the first students at the Amarillo State Center and entered their programs at the age of three. She began her training at the Old First Christian Church which was located in downtown Amarillo. Through the efforts of the parents of those little children

and many civic leaders the Center on Wallace Boulevard was one of five built in the State. It still stands and operates as a tribute to the city and its continuing support.

Heavenly was surrounded not only by her family, but by a family of employees at the Amarillo State Center who taught and cared for her. She lived in a group home with three other individuals. Together they shared their home, their lives, and their joy. She had a natural joy of living and was free with hugs for everyone she met. For the past year she was cared for by the people at BSA Hospice Care who were instrumental in helping her to stay in her home and attend the workshop until her death.

Heavenly was instrumental in teaching us all to love without fear and to live each day to the fullest. She truly lived in the moment.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have been so important in her life, the persons at the Amarillo State Center, BSA Hospice and the many, many people who have loved and supported her throughout her life.

If she were here, she would challenge us all to live one day at a time and cherish every person you meet.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
