Charles Anthony Taylor
Charles Anthony Taylor, 76, of Canyon, TX died Monday, February 5, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Karen Wells officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Charles was born August 30, 1947, in Hubert, NC to George and Thelma (Jones) Taylor.
Charles married Janie Pletcher on January 25, 1969, in Amarillo, TX. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a Mason in Perryton, TX, where he lived from 1984-2006. For many years, Charles and Janie taught Sunday school and worked in the library at First Baptist Church of Perryton.
He also was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Taylor; and sisters, Carolyn Taylor and Margaret Taylor.
Survivors include his son, Tony Taylor and wife Heidi, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Tracy Ware and husband Ashley, of Canyon, TX; sisters, Belle Taylor, of Swansboro, NC, Betty Mulvey, of Wilmington, NC, and Nancy Hand, of Miami, FL; and three grandchildren, Bryce, Brenna, and Janie.
