
Adelina Castro, 75, of Amarillo, TX went to be with the Lord Jesus Saturday, January 15th, 2022.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M., Friday, January 21, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Timotea Varela and her Father Pedro Varela.
She is survived by her Husband Herman Oley Castro and her five children and spouses: Yvette Hayes and her husband Billy Hayes, Nick Castro and his wife Cindy Castro, Magdalene Quintana, Josh Castro, and Micaela Olvera and her husband Valentin Olvera. She has 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Adelina was born in Juárez Mexico, on July 5th, 1946. She was 1 of a 10-sibling household. Her 2 eldest siblings having passed at infancy and early childhood, Adelina grew up as the eldest of 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Adelina met Herman Castro in November of 1967. They soon married thereafter on April 21st, 1968. They had 3 girls and 2 boys.
Adelina Castro became a born-again Christian in June of 1975. Adelina and her husband Pastored a church for 9 years in Hereford Tx and co-pastored a church in Amarillo TX for over 22 years.
She was passionate about her faith and her family. She was a woman with strict convictions. She always said what she meant and meant what she said. She ruled the ground she walked only in the name of her God. She was a faithful Wife a loving Mother and a nurturing Grandmother.
Adelina Castro never wavered in her commitment to her loved ones and never wavered in her Faith.
She ran her course and finished her race and now is in the presence of her Savior, Jesus.
God be with the Castro family. Adelina was much loved and will be missed. I am sorry I couldn’t be there. Love you all. Linda C.
