Alejandro “Alex” Chavoya, 27, of Stratford, TX passed away on November 5, 2022.

The family will receive friends at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home for a visitation on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 6 P.M. – 7 P.M., A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 P.M., Thursday 17, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Alex was born in Dumas, TX on January 31, 1995, to Marisol Villegas and Manuel Chavoya.
Alex graduated in 2013 from Stratford High School where he enjoyed playing football, running track, and cross county. Even after high school, he continued the pursuit of health and fitness by always staying active.
Alex’s greatest devotion was to the military. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 where he started his career as a radar repairer and deployed twice to Iraq. He later reclassed to a Calvary Scout and deployed to Poland and Hungary. Staff Sergeant Alejandro Chavoya served a total of 9 years of active duty.
Alex loved outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, and hiking. He took great pride in working with his hands by building a variety of things and tending to plants.
Alex is survived by his parents, Marisol Villegas and Manuel Chavoya; siblings, Manuel Chavoya, Jr., Brianda Keener and husband Klinton Keener, and Yadhira Chavoya; nieces Elayna Keener, and Laylynn Keener; grandparents, Gilbert Villegas, and Irene Villegas; beloved girlfriend Sarah Pernell; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
