Ed was born on November 7, 1948, in Amarillo, TX to Eldon and Helen Louise Armbruster. He married Shirley Ann Simpson (Little Brown Eyes) on Jan 29th, 1976. They raised Jonathan, their only son, together. He mentored many Boy Scouts and other young men who needed a man to show them how to build a campfire, sharpen a knife, or pitch a tent. He was a member of Victory Church in Amarillo for many years and retired from Pantex after working there for most of his life. He has been living in Ft. Worth, TX with his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids.

Ed loved working with wood and building things. He also loved collecting eagles, cars, and guns, camping, and riding motorcycles. He had fond memories of the good times he had with friends from his home fellowship group, years as a scoutmaster, motorcycle rallies, serving at church, and the mission’s trips to Honduras. He especially loved doing projects and crafts with his grandkids. He truly was a loving, generous, patient father to so many. He took care of people and gave his time, money, and tools to anyone who needed them. His smile, though rare, was guaranteed to make you laugh.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Eldon and Helen Louise Armbruster and his step-sister Christy Jo. He is survived by his loving stepmom Nancy, sister Deborah, brothers Steve and Anthony, step-brother Keith, and step-sisters Mitsi and Diana, son Jonathan, his favorite daughter-in-law, Penny, daughter Jennifer, grandkids Noah, Autumn, and Carter, and of course, the love of his life of 46 years, Shirley.
