Amelia “Tia Bo” Gonzales, 82, of Amarillo, TX graduated from this earth into the presence of Jesus on Monday, November 1st, 2021. 

Services will include family visitation from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 4, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel and the funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 5, 2021, at VIDA Church, 2920 SW 5th, Amarillo, TX with Pastor Efrain Pineda officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. 

Amelia was born February 12th, 1939, in Victoria, TX to Juan and Guadalupe Gonzales. At the age of 16, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. That relationship forever changed her. She passionately and wholeheartedly served the Lord for the rest of her life. Amelia graduated from Latin American Bible Institute in 1958. She then went to Gallup, New Mexico to serve as a Missionary to the Navajo Nation. Amelia married Jose Gonzales in 1968 in Amarillo, TX. They were able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary before Jose passed away in 2018. She was a loving wife and mother of three. Amelia also spent most of her life serving in her local church in different capacities. She was a pastor, singer, evangelist, and missionary. Amelia enjoyed spending time with her family and life-long friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Guadalupe Gonzales; her husband, Jose Gonzales; a son, Jose Jr.; a brother, Santana Gonzales Sr.; and sisters, Corine Alonzo, Margie Villareal, and Angie Guerrero. 

Amelia is survived by a daughter, Margie Gonzales; a son, Jose Luis Gonzales and wife Ana; granddaughters, Daizy Ortiz, and Elvia Ortiz; and great-granddaughter, Ulani Santillan-Ortiz. She is also survived by a sister, Elida Quintero and husband Ralph; special nieces, Sara Naranjo and Drea Quintero; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones; and last but not least, her furry friend Jelly Bean.
