Arlin Smith, 84, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, January 28, 2024.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at First Family Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Arlin was born September 22, 1939, in De Ridder, LA to parents Fred and Ethel (Loper) Smith.
He graduated from West Texas State University in 1972 and was employed as an accountant for 25 years with Southwestern Public Service.
Arlin married Jonelle Roe on July 10, 1976, in Wichita Falls. For 8 years, they traveled the tri-state area presenting church services. He also was featured in many spiritual radio and television spots, and authored many articles published on the Opinion Page of the Amarillo Globe-News.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ethel Smith, and a baby brother, Flynn.
Survivors include his wife of more than 47 years, Jonelle Smith, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Michelle McCoy and husband Ray, of Lampasas, TX; a brother, Dwayne Smith and wife Susan, of Flat, TX; a sister, Wanda Selby, of Amarillo, TX; a grandson, Ashton McCoy, of Lampasas, TX; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
