Ashley Elisabeth Cerda, a teacher at Accelerate Church, Amarillo TX died suddenly on September 22, 2020, at the age of 30.

Ashley is survived by her husband Joshua Rick Cerda (JR Cerda), her parents Mark & Vicky Boyett, brother Jason Boyett, Uncles Carlos Ramirez, Chris Ramirez, Aunts Gloria Sotello, Delores Griego, father & mother in law (love) Augustine & Cindy Cerda, brother & sister in law Danny & Amanda McCampbell and her hearts joy nieces Aubre’a Shea, Aydriana Skye, Dani Marie & nephew Kobe.

Ashley was born on November 28, 1989, to Mark & Vicky Boyett of Amarillo.  Ashley lived in Amarillo her whole life.  She graduated from Amarillo College with an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.  She worked briefly at BSA before being called to work and serve the Lord as a teacher to her students at Accelerate Church which she loved with her whole heart.

Ashley married the love of her life and soulmate JR on October 18, 2014.

Ashley was devoted to her God, husband, and church.  Accelerate has been Ashley’s home for 5 years.  She was a very spiritual woman and servant of God.  As well as a shoulder for many to lean on.  She touched many lives while she was here on earth and will be missed by many.

Ashley enjoyed her students and fellow staff, date night with her husband as well as shopping but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 28th at Accelerate Church, 4400 S Crockett, Amarillo TX.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Flowers and donations can be sent to Boxwell Brothers Funeral home or Accelerate Church in honor of Ashley Cerda.

  2. JR you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I was so very sorry to hear of your lost, however I am really happy you and your wife came to know the Lord and will now be comforted by his angles.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss! Ashley was always smiling and nice when we saw her. It breaks my heart knowing the pain you all are going through. I wish there was more we could do. You are all in our prayers.

  7. My heart is still breaking. I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around all of this. Ashley lit up JR’s life and was loved by everyone. The Lord knew He had a good one that He needed sooner than later. But that still doesn’t make it any easier. I love you JR Cerda and always have honey. We are here for you
