Austin Caleb Gifford, age 29, passed away to his permanent home in heaven on December 31, 2020.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at HIS Church, 6300 Arden Rd.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

He was born in Amarillo, TX on July 3, 1991, to parents Stephanie and Andy Lemons and James Gifford.

Austin was a loving father, son, and brother. He graduated from Bushland High School and worked in construction.

To know Austin, was to love Austin. He had a heart and passion to help the lost and broken regardless of his own struggles. He had a fierce love for the Lord and never missed an opportunity to spread his knowledge of Christ. Austin could light up the darkest room, had an infectious laugh and smile, and a charismatic personality. He was obsessed with movies, popcorn, dill pickles, and his hair. He was known as an incredible athlete and “Mr. GQ” that always had hair gel and cologne easily accessible. Austin always said, “life’s a stage, so I might as well be in the center.”

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Galen Heeter.

Austin is survived by his parents, Stephanie and Andy Lemons and James Gifford; daughters, Journey, Swayze, and Trulee; grandmother, Sunnie Heeter; grandparents, Terry and Geneva Gifford, Ed and Penny Zielinski, and John Lemons; great-grandma, Jean Armstrong; brothers, Landon and wife Ashlei Gifford, Jadon Lemons, Dawson Lemons, and Kolten Tucker; sisters, Brittany and husband Braiden Cartrite, Addie Lemons, Arin Lemons, Averi Gifford, and Addison Gifford; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Austin’s honor to go towards his children. Please contact Amarillo National Bank to donate. The account number is 276964.

  1. My heart hurts. I truly loved this kid. He was a one of a kind. The most tenderest heart that I’ve known. He will be missed. Most of all his gorgeous smile.

  2. Dear Austin, I have watched you grow for some time now and you were growing into such a beautiful young man! You loved your babies and you loved Jesus! We will be hurting here on Earth without your presence but you are finally free! Praying for the family!

  3. Austin and Landon were the first of the cute boys in this family. Then pairing up with little Brittany. Our hearts were full of laughter with the cute trio. Your heart was full of love and mischievous. Know we will think of you often.

  4. I still remember the day you cam into our lives like it was yesterday! Although crazy at first it was amazing. I loved you more than I knew I could ever love anyone. You made mine and my kids lives bright in so many ugly times. Your presence made everyone smile. Your deep down beauty was unimaginable, not a lot took the time to see, and so many took advantage of. I know ill see you again. Fly high God has you now, and the demons are gone! I always knew you were meant for greatness! Your God’s angel! I love you Austin now and forever !

I will always remember the first day I met you and I will always remember the last time I saw your sweet face! My heart hurts for your family and the loss of your presence on earth but I know without a doubt your are in the arms of our father celebrating in heaven and WE WILL meet again!
