Avery Elizabeth Hopper, 25, of Frisco, Texas passed away on February 20, 2023.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Jared Houze officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Avery was born in Amarillo, Texas on March 18, 1997, to John Hopper and Luanne Boyd. Avery attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, De Zavala Middle School, and graduated from Tascosa High School in 2015. At De Zavala, Avery enjoyed all sports but most of all she enjoyed running track where she ran the 100-yard dash. While at Tascosa High School, Avery was a cheer leader, a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council member, and a Belle for the Amarillo Symphony.

Avery loved the mountains, the beach, and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed hiking and snowboarding. She spent her summers at the Rio Frio River with her siblings, extended family, and her favorite dog, Scout. Avery had a soft spot for dogs. She always wanted to rescue dogs and make sure they were cared for and loved. Avery was a very talented artist. She had a good eye for interior design, and she enjoyed decorating her home. She would take a normal space and enliven it with her touch. A St. Andrew’s teacher once said that “Avery had a zest for life”, and that sure was true.

Avery also had a deep passion for fashion design, clothing apparel, and make-up. She was always wearing the newest fashions. That lead her to attend medical esthetician school at the Dallas Skin Institute. Avery graduated from the Dallas Skin Institute on January 20, 2023, as a medical esthetician.

On October 22, 2020, the light of Avery’s life was born, her daughter, Oakley Ames Frank. She loved being a mom and the Lord blessed her with the most perfect and pure love Avery had ever felt. The two were inseparable, two peas in a pod. Oakley brought so much joy to Avery with her sweet and funny personality.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin Hopper; and her grandparents, Jesse Langston, Frances Mary Hopper, and Martha Templeton.

Avery is survived by her daughter, Oakley Frank; her mother, Luanne Boyd; her father, John T. Hopper; her brother, Nicholas Hopper; her sister, Abby Boyd; her grandfather, Robert Templeton; her aunts and uncles, Linda and Larry Cunyus, Fred and Patti Hopper, Patty and Dan Gillean, and Mark and Debbie Hopper; her cousins, Koe Cunyus and Kendall Cockerham; her family friends, Susan Georgeson and Olivia Yaeger; her dogs, Scout and Milo; and too many friends to mention.

In lieu of flowers or gifts the family would like memorial contributions made in Avery’s name to the Amarillo S.P.C.A., 11901 S. Coulter, Amarillo, Texas 79119, or visit https://www.amarillospcashelter.com/wish-list
