Barbara Sue Hyer

Barbara Sue Hyer, 77, of Hereford, TX passed away on July 28th, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at the Fellowship of Believers Church in Hereford.

Sue was born in Levelland, TX on November 12, 1944, to Loveller

Lee Pearl Milner and Emory Oneal Williams.  She spent most of her childhood on a farm in southeastern Arizona.  She moved to Hereford in 1975.  In the 1980’s she worked at High Plains Savings and Loan.  Later she was employed as Ike Stevens’ Administrative Assistant with Edward Jones. She held this position for more than a decade.   Upon Ike’s leaving Hereford, she became a Financial Advisor for AG Edwards in Amarillo where she worked until her retirement.

Sue was an avid reader, loved flowers, gardening, and music.  She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures with her family.  She loved her family fiercely.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Loveller and Oneal Williams.

She is survived by one brother, Glenn Williams and wife Judy of Gulf Shores, AL.  Two children, Allen Hyer and wife Elaine of Dalhart and Tammy Hyer of Amarillo.  Five grandchildren, T.A. Hyer of Amarillo, Kimberly Hakala and husband Nathan of Amarillo, Gwendolyn Walden of Dumas, Hayden McGaugh of Eden Prairie, MN, and Hayley McGaugh-Hyer of Austin, and two great-grandchildren

, Cullen and Carson Hakala.

  1. Fond memories of Sue. Serving in Pilot together and carpooling to WT back in the day. Sweet lady and I know she will be missed by her family and friends.
