Betty Jo Hacker, 93, of Vega, TX died Friday, February 3, 2023.

Services occurring at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Vega United Methodist Church in Vega with Paul Evans, pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega.  Arrangements managed by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Betty Jo was born September 14, 1929, in Oldham County to Mary Estelle and Clarence Thuett.  She married W. Joe Hacker in 1999 in Vega.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Estelle and Clarence Thuett; first husband, J.B. MacNaughton; second husband, W. Joe Hacker; son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Debbie Hacker of Dallas, TX; brother, R.W. Thuett; and son-in-law, Mark Whisner.

Survivors include her children, Shelley and Shawn Hacker, of Lake Charles, LA; Sabra Whisner, of Richmond, TX; Sonya and Larry Bagwell, of Sugar Land, TX; Stefan and Kim Hacker, of Grove, OK; and Santry and Jill Hacker, of Royse City, TX; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Amarillo, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

The family suggests memorials be made to Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega, P.O. Box 396, Vega, TX 79092, Vega United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 182, Vega, TX 79092, or The Ware at Park Central, 1510 S. Van Buren St., Amarillo, TX 79101.

  1. Thank you for sending me the obituary Betty Jo had a large family and I’m sure you are all very sad , she lived to a good age. We are thinking of you at this sad time.We will always remember her and as one half of Thelma and Louise.
