Betty Ruth Cavitt, 82, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas, TX with Glenn McCathern, pastor, Prairie View Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.
Betty was born April 9, 1940, to P.N. and Minnie Johnson, in Adrian, TX, where she graduated from high school.
Betty married Johnny T. Cavitt on March 27, 1958. They lived in San Saba, TX, California, Wyoming, Mississippi, and Adrian before settling in Etter, TX for more than 40 years. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2012.
She worked as a secretary for Cactus Feeders, Bawley Cattle Supply, and Advanced Body Shop. She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved animals.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Mark Cavitt and wife Renee, of Amarillo, TX; three grandsons, Johnny Lee Cavitt and wife Rhonda, of Amarillo, TX; Brian Booth and wife Ashley, of Etter, TX; and Brady Booth of Amarillo, TX; five great-grandchildren, Johnny Ricky Lee Cavitt, Brooklynne Renee Cavitt, and Ryan Scott Cavitt, all of Amarillo, Braxton Sloan Booth, of Lubbock; a sister, Sue Gillam, of Chickasha, OK; brother, Jimmy Johnson of Ames Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
