Beverly Gillespie Jayroe, 90, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on September 9, 2022.

Private graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A combined memorial service for Beverly and her husband, Melvin Jayroe, will follow on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:30 A.M., at the Evangelical Fellowship Church, 5000 SW 49th Ave., Amarillo. Mr. Jayroe passed away on August 29, 2022.

Beverly was born in Clovis, New Mexico on June 29, 1932, to Clay Wallace Gillespie and Mary Torrance Gillespie. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950 and attended Amarillo College. Beverly was involved in the ministry of Child Evangelism for many years. She married Melvin Jayroe in 1976. They were both active in real estate in Hereford, Amarillo, and Albuquerque.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Clay Autry (Pam), and Blake Autry (Denise) of Amarillo; daughter, Tonya Demirjian (Bob) of North Las Vegas; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 2700 S. Western, Suite 500, Amarillo, TX 79109.

  2. I will miss Beverly & Melvin. I enjoyed visiting with them both. Such sweet people. I enjoyed Conversation with Bev about the Lord & about politics. She had an interesting take on this world’s situation. Love them both. I know you as the family will miss them So sorry for y’all’s loss. Praying for all of you.
