Beverly Joy Williams went to her Heavenly home on June 7, 2022 at the age of 73, but her impact on the world will continue.

Beverly was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 14, 1949 to Roy and Marjorie Wallace.  She attended Travis Junior High and Palo Duro High School, where many life-long friendships were made.  While attending West Texas State University, she worked at Avis Rent-A-Car, where she met the love of her life, Pat.   They married on August 21, 1969, and spent the next 53 years laughing through good times and challenges, and quietly modeling what love was to all they encountered.   Beverly completed her Bachelor’s degree at West Texas State, and began a career in education that spanned 49 years.  After earning a Master’s degree in Education Leadership, she embarked on a new journey of teaching and guiding adults, as well as children, as a principal.  Throughout the many campuses she led in her career, her passion for learning and inspiring others was shared with thousands.

Beverly and Pat had two daughters, Brandy and Barbara.  She was an amazing mother who loved them fiercely and was proud of the women they grew into.  She taught them strength, kindness, and compassion. Beverly loved the Lord and spent her life doing her best to emulate Christ.  Words frequently used to describe Beverly are devoted, loving, kind, fun, and tough.  She loved her family, her chosen career, friends, and all children.  Beverly’s love grew immensely when she became a Nana to Kaylee and Jacob.  She now had two more partners in crime that she could help mold, protect, and show what unconditional love and support felt like.  Beverly was always on the go and her happiness was contagious to everyone she met.

Although her family is heartbroken over her unexpected passing, they rejoice in the belief that she is in her Heavenly home with her Savior.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Pat; daughter, Barbara Casida; daughter, Brandy Self and spouse Kirk;  grandchildren, Kaylee and Jacob Self; brother, Roy Dan Wallace and spouse Tiffany; brothers-in-law, Tim Williams and spouse Vonda, and Ken Williams and spouse Patti; sister-in-law, Petra Williams; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Marjorie Wallace; niece, Lindsay Williams; brother-in-law, Mike Williams; and many beloved relatives.  What an amazing reunion they are having.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Paramount Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

  1. Beverly showed us around Woodlands the year it opened and Jack was part of the first class to go all the way from K- “Grad” at that school I think. She was so proud of the school and for good reason. She was a good buddy to Jack, even when she had to call him into the office for breaking an electric pencil sharpener – twice! We have fond memories of Beverly and Woodlands associated with Jack, though we didn’t see her for years – until we ran into y’all at Chuy’s in Round Rock just a short time ago! Glad to have seen her recently as enthusiastic as ever!

  36. Dear Cousin Bev,
I want you to know how sad I am today about your leaving us, though I’m sure you’re having a great time right now at the Wallace/Murphy reunion in heaven. Wow, I’ve had so many thoughts in the last 24 hours of the beautiful life you had. Beautiful family too. I thought about the days growing up when the four musketeers, you, me, Peggy and Sharon, would all play together at Thompson Park at our family picnics, or marvel at the musicianship of our uncles and grandpa jamming at a Wallace hoedown. My favorite, however, had to be the laughs we had about Marge and Gwen, BFF’s and the best moms ever, as they were given the difficult task of taking care of Roy and Fay! What days they were. I’m so sorry and regret deeply how I allowed life to get in the way of our staying close. I did feel, however, the last time we were together at lunch when I visited Amarillo that it was like old times all over again. You always made room for the family. And your girls are just like you. They will carry on where you and Marge left off, so be assured of that. I love you dear cousin and grieve your loss greatly today along with Pat, Barbara, Brandy and Kirk, Kaylee and Jacob, Roy Dan and his family, and scores of other lives you touched. Just know that I will be there in spirit as the final goodbyes are shared on Friday, and I hug my husband, children and grandchildren a little closer today, knowing that tomorrow is not guaranteed. But also knowing that Jesus has stored all these memories and good things in heaven to never be forgotten. Thank you for being a wonderful part of my life journey…I’ll never forget you. Love from your first cousin and friend, Joyce Wallace Gilbreath Kokel.

  39. I am so sorry that I cannot be there to celebrate this sweet lady’s life with you all. I’m so sad at her unexpected passing, grateful for her presence in my life and encouraged by the hope we have in Jesus that this is only a temporary separation and we will join her when the Lord calls us each home. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  40. So many things in life we don’t understand, but our faith helps us get through each day. Please know many prayers will be spoken for all of you as you embark on this journey one day at a time. ❤️ Kae Rae and Stan Austin
