Bill Lee Forbes, 92, of Claude, TX passed away February 10, 2024.

Visitation will be from 4-5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount, Amarillo. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Claude Church of Christ with Minister Shawn Johnson and Scott Bentley as officiants. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Bill was born August 29, 1931 in Hobert, OK to Grover and Cleo Forbes. He had great pride in being from Oklahoma and that his mother’s family were Sooners. They lived in Coldspring, OK until Bill was 13 years old when they moved to Claude, TX. He graduated from Claude High School in 1949 and lived most of his life in Claude. He has a great love for Claude and the people of the community. He then attended Amarillo College and West Texas State University. Bill made a career in the financial industry working for Southwestern Investment Company, Beneficial Financial, Tascosa National Bank, First National Bank of Amarillo, and Wells Fargo. He was also part of many organizations including, Claude Church of Christ, Armstrong County Museum, Claude Chamber of Commerce, Armstrong County Economic Development Committee, and Panhandle Plains Higher Education Authority to name a few.

Bill had a great love for God and His word, his family, and a good joke. He was always upbeat and positive about life and was a constant encourager.

He is preceded in death by his son, Geoffrey Forbes; and granddaughter, April Callis.

Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Forbes; sons, Mike Forbes and wife Pam and Greg Otts and wife Edi; 2 granddaughters; and 7 great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Claude EMS or Claude Fire Department.
