Billie “June” Cooley, 81, of Amarillo, TX passed away August 18, 2023.
June will be available for viewing from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 25, 2023, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
June was born December 16, 1941, in Borger, TX to Willie Lee and Willie Blanche Stevenson. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1959 and in 1992 earned a BS degree in business administration from Wayland Baptist University.
From 1972-1975, she worked at Northwest Texas Hospital and for Pantex from 1975-2014.
June earned her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling, SCUBA diving, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee and Willie Blanche Stevenson; and two sisters, Mary Lee England and Jackie Lee King.
June is survived by her husband of 50 years, Oren Cooley; her three children, Julie Rea, Jonathan Rea, and Jerri Cordeiro; 6 grandchildren, Shane Miller, Keshia Wendt, Trevor Rea, Sterling Rea, Jessica McBryde, Jared Cordeiro; and twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
