Billie Sue Bourque Gilbert, 78, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 4, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Jim Shelburne officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Billie was born in Beaumont, Texas on May 10, 1945, to Faye (Foster) and Abden Joseph Bourque. She graduated from Vidor High School and went on to attend Draughton Business College. She worked for Ryder Truck Rental as an office manager, Connie Stark Real Estate Company as an office manager, and the TDCJ in the education department. Billie also worked for Washington Avene Christian Church as the head of children’s education.
Billie married Jere Gilbert on April 3, 1981, in Amarillo, Texas. Roy Wheeler married them.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Jere Gilbert; children, Karen Denise Wilson Spruill, Erron Wilson and wife Beth; grandchildren, George Spruill, Evy Spruill, and Gentry Wilson; and half-brother, Michael Bourque and wife Lisa.
