Billy “Duane” Littlefield

Billy “Duane” Littlefield of Amarillo, Texas got his wish on July 27

th

, 2022, to join his Heavenly Maker at the age of 91.

Duane was born on May 26

th

, 1931, in Twitty, Texas to Bill and Ruth Littlefield and was the oldest of 3 sons.

Duane attended High School in Clarendon, Texas participating in boxing, football, and basketball. In 1948, while in Clarendon, he met the “Love of His Life” Roberta Barrett in Bible Class. They later married on November 30

th

, 1951. After serving his country in the Army he pursued his love for farming in Goldston, Texas. While in Goldston they were blessed with two children, Regena in 1953 and Dennis in 1955. In 1956, they moved to Amarillo and began what became his lifelong career as an Auto Mechanic. In 1959, they were blessed again with their third child, Brent. After working at the Stockyard’s Service Station and Jackson’s Auto he started “Duane’s Auto Service” in 1963 at his home on the Fritch Highway. He operated and retired from his business after 35 years.

His time and his life were consumed with family, friends, and church by emulating his Lord serving others. He loved hunting with his greyhounds, playing softball with his sons and son-in-law, and was at his happiest taking care of his cattle. He tolerated his families love for the lake and driving the boat pulling skiers for many summers. He taught his children to love the Lord and how to serve Him.  He was a master of pranks, building contraptions, and extremely gifted with wittiness. There has never been a more supportive Husband, Dad, or Friend. Whether it was at Church, Retirement Centers, or Senior Citizens, he became a favorite of many. He struggled with health and pain the last 2 years of his life. Through it all, he continued his positive, loving, and caring attitude and his gift of wit ended with his last breath.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Doyle Littlefield. He is survived by his youngest brother, Kenneth Littlefield.

He left behind, Roberta, his wife of 70 years; 3 children Regena Ladd and husband Max, Dennis Littlefield and wife Tonja, and Brent Littlefield and wife Gail; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Ladd, Mark Ladd, Keena Ladd, Micah Ladd, Tisha Morris, Golden Littlefield, Lacye Crumpton, and Brad Littlefield; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In casual dress, the family would like to share a meal with family and friends in a Celebration of Life at Central Church of Christ at 12pm on Saturday, August 6

th

, 2022. (Please use the West Entrance)
