Billy Michael Gilmore, 79, of Amarillo, TX passed away on September 8, 2022.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 12, 2022, at Paramount Baptist Church with Lance Herrington officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Billy was born in Hillsboro, TX on July 3, 1943, to Opal and James Gilmore. He married Paula Driver on May 3, 1963 in Cleburne. He had worked at Santa Fe Railroad and The Department of Corrections for many years. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church where he served on the Disaster Relief Team.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Gilmore; and siblings, James “Jimmy” Richard Gilmore, and Martha Jean “Jeannie” Gilmore Owens.
Survivors include his son, Tony Gilmore and wife Misty of Amarillo; daughter, Tammy Gilmore of Phoenix; grandchildren, Alicia Gale and husband Travis, Aimee Winters and husband Caleb, Trey Gilmore, and Andrew Hines; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Winters, Brookelynn Gale, and one more due in December.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Paramount Baptist Church.
