Billy Ray Hobbs
Billy Ray Hobbs, 83, of Amarillo, TX passed away on March 30, 2022.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Billy was born on February 17, 1939, to Willie Ann Green and Robert Whitfield Hobbs. He graduated from Vega High School in 1958. He was married to Sharon Price Hobbs on August 7, 1961. She passed away in February of 2018 due to cancer. Billy installed and repaired garage doors and he also worked at Home Depot for over 20 years. Billy served in the Army as a nuclear weapons inspector. He had four brothers and seven sisters. They were raised on their family farm, in Montague County, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Hobbs, and son, Cody Hobbs.
Billy is survived by grandsons, Matthew Hobbs of North Carolina, Billy Price of Amarillo, TX, and Kyle Hobbs of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Kristen Hobbs of Amarillo, TX; great-grandsons, Hobbs Ingle, and Cody Roach of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Cathy Price of Amarillo, TX; son, Cliff Hobbs of North Carolina; sister, Sally Hobbs of California; brother, Skip Hobbs of Cameron, TX; and best friend, Paul Jackson of Vega, TX.
