Bobbie Wanell Jester, 91, of Amarillo, Texas passed away November 12, 2023.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Bobbie was born September 20, 1932 in Memphis, TX to J.M. and Minnie Ferrel. She graduated from Memphis High School and attended Clarendon College. Bobbie was a homemaker, loved playing BINGO and Bowling, and was a longtime member of Paramount Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Jester.

Bobbie is survived by sons Gale Jester and Gere of Fritch, TX, Kenneth Dale Jester and Cindy of Amarillo, TX, and Richard Jester of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Travis Jester, Micah Jester, Stacy Fergurson, and Kenneth Jester; and 5 great-grandchildren.

  1. Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “ Jesus plainly told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.

  2. Bobbie has always been so special to me. As a kid, my family would stay a night with Weldon and Bobbie almost every summer on our vacation trip. I always looked forward to Bobbie, the cats, and her love of Elvis.
    I’m so very thankful I could visit Bobbie in Amarillo a few years ago and know her a little more.
    She was a precious woman who I’ve always treasured.
    Today my prayers and love are with you all, the children and grandchildren. You made her life full of the greatest blessings.
    May you find joy in celebrating your beautiful mother today. May the Lord comfort everyone experiencing the loss of her presence on earth. I know she is enjoying the fullness of the presence of Jesus in this moment.

  3. I am so sorry to read of your loss. I worked with Weldon in the Meter Shop at SPS. I got to know your mother very well back then. She was a lovely lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorrow.
