Brad had many things he was passionate about. He loved fishing, camping, and golfing. He also loved all college sports, always cheering for Notre Dame and Purdue. However, there was nothing that Brad loved more than his precious girls. He was an incredible husband and the best girl dad in the world. Whether he was letting them do his hair and paint his nails, teaching them about airplanes and John Deere tractors, or taking the family camping, the girls were right by his side. He loved going on golf cart rides with them and watching Claire play basketball. They will always share an unbreakable bond. Brad was also honored to see Claire get baptized this past year and it brought him great joy. Brad fought his 2 year battle with cancer with an unwavering strength. His family, friends, and work-family at Pantex never left his side.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edgar Kurzhal; and grandmother, Sue Yoder.

He is survived by his parents, Dave and Kathy Yoder, of South Bend, IN; wife, Kristen Yoder, of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Claire Yoder (9) and Landry Yoder (6), both of Amarillo, TX; brother, Aaron Yoder and his wife Rachel, of South Bend, IN; brother, Connor Yoder and his wife Edsys, of South Bend, IN; grandfather, Charles Yoder and his wife Janet; grandmother, Phyllis Kurzhal; and nephews, Dartanyin, Adam, and Elliot Yoder. He also had a second family in Texas and Colorado comprised of his in-laws, and sister and brother-in-laws. Additional survivors include his in-laws, Gary and Janet Hillers, of Amarillo, TX, Jason and Shanna Alstead, of Amarillo, TX, and Mark and Amy Hillers, of Parker, CO; nieces, Makenna, Brooklyn, Ellie, Willow, and Sydney; and Kristen’s grandparents, Vernon and Clara Yarbrough, of Amarillo, TX.

In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor Brad is requested to make a contribution to his girl’s college fund through Venmo @Yoder-Girls or at any Amarillo National Bank branch.

  2. David, my husband, knew Brad as an intern at Bell Helicopter. He knew Brad was a great guy, but especially when he asked to go to church with us. I knew then that this special guy would probably like to meet my friend’s daughter, who was also a really special person. I was so excited for them when they got married. I know Brad will be greatly missed, but I hope the family finds comfort knowing he is in heaven , totally healed.

  3. My Yoder journey started years ago. We often shared “kid” stories from many miles apart. I believe that once you meet a Yoder you are friends for life. While we all grieve due to our own earthly needs, I am also comforted knowing Brad’s relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ will bring him true salvation. I shed tears for Brad’s family and close friends and pray that you feel the strength and peace of your faith.

    With peace and love,
