  1. Craig and Steve God bless you both as well as your families you were so lucky to have had such great parents. I cherish the memories I have of your mom and I working for hours making flowers for decorating cakes, we had a special relatio ship, which I’m sure everyone felt because she had a special gift for making people feel special. God bless you all.

  2. Carol was a good friend and I was honored she trusted me to run her store when she was out of town. I also loved helping her with rentals for a new school year.
She will be missed. Love and prayers for her family.

  3. Being nearest my age, Carol and I (Pat) were best friends as well as “double cousins”, and we enjoyed sharing as much time together as we could. Later when we were both married, the four of us and our families continued to delight in one another’s company — so many memories of great times together. It was hard for us to say goodbye when she and Dave and their family moved from Michigan to Texas. And now, it is hard saying goodbye to Carol again, but so comforting to know that we will be seeing her soon along with Jesus, and we’ll never need to say it again. Craig and Steve and your families, may God comfort you at this time as only He can.

  4. The children of your big brother Russell and sister-in-law Maxine have been reflecting on our wonderful memories of Aunt Carol: her trips to northern Minnesota for pumpkin parties, making sauerkraut, and for our father Russell’s 80th and 90th birthdays, plus Russell and Maxine’s 40th and maybe 50th wedding anniversary gatherings, at least one other reunion at Carters Farm in Minnesota, Thanksgiving in Iowa, Florida visits — including the chocolate festival in Miami, visit to ECHO Agricultural Missions Center in Ft. Myers…and much more.

And of course, there was the gathering with the Longcor family at Grandpa Clinton and Irma’s house in Florida, Christmas, 1971.

Each one of those events involved a major trip on Aunt Carol’s part and this is much appreciated. I know that getting her there involved sacrifices and support from Steve and Craig and we hope you realize what a big deal it was to have Aunt Carol with us.

We also remembered that all seven of us children accessed our first band instruments from Uncle Dave’s and Aunt Carol’s Longcor Music Company.

We all cherish these memories and look forward to joining Aunt Carol in glorious heaven with Jesus.

  5. Oh how I loved Carol! We have been sweet friends for so many years and I will miss her till I see her again.
Carol loved Jesus, and her boys and their families so much.
I am really sad that I will be out of town for Carol’s Celebration of Life service but will be with you in spirit and prayer.

  6. Dear Craig and Steven,
One of my childhood memories is the evenings that our parents enjoyed together, which included much laughter, while we cousins played.

So sorry for your families’ loss.
So thankful to Jesus for the future reunion in heaven.

  7. Dear Steve and Craig,
Your Mom was someone special. I would often run into her at church. She always was laughing and had to time to stop and talk.
Since I have been in Fort Worth, she and I corresponded on Facebook. it was always good to hear from Carol. She kept me up to date on things back in Amarillo. But what I will remember most is she used her Facebook as a place to praise the Lord and tell others about Jesus. Her faith was genuine and strong for as long as I have known her.
Your Mom is with Christ right now. We will see her again soon.

May you be comforted by your memories of your Mom.

  8. Carol was one of my (Jim’s) “double cousins, meaning that Carol’s mother, Ruby (Rifenberg) Carter was my dad’s (Ray Rifenberg) big sister. And that Carol’s father, Clint Carter, was my mother’s (Florabelle Carter Rifenberg) big brother. She was a delightfully funny and entertaining person. She was a terrific wife to Dave, a terrific mom to Brent, Craig and Steven, a terrific sister to Russ, Colleen, Onalee and Gloria, and a terrific cousin, and a terrfic friend to many, many people. But most of all, she was a dedicated follower of Jesus, in whose presence she will enjoy the delights of heaven forever. Her many comments and posts on FB strongly reflected her faith and trust in Jesus. For all of us left here to look forward to seeing her again, she’ll remain unforgettable.

  9. Dear Craig and Steve,
Your mom and dad were definitely my favorite aunt and uncle! I have fond memories of visits to your home at Long Lake! I know that having to say goodbye now is hard, but it won’t be long before we can all see our loved ones in heaven for eternity! I have been praying for you all that you will find comfort and peace in Jesus. I’m certain that my mom(Colleen)has already greeted your mom! Continued thoughts and prayers to you and your families.
