Carolyn Sue Combs McCarty, 70, of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Carolyn was born July 31, 1951, in Memphis, TX to John Wesley and Mary Combs.

Carolyn was the best Nana, the best wife, and the best mom. She loved the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Mary Combs; sisters, Mary Ann Claytor, and Ruth Combs; brothers, Jerry Combs, and Larry Combs; and niece, Debbie Matheson.

Survivors include her husband, Ben McCarty; children, Jewel May McCarty, Benbo McCarty, Mark Allen McCarty, and April Ann King; sisters, Lula Matheson, and Patricia Combs; two brothers, Robert and Richard Combs; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

  1. My aunt, my godmother. She taught me a lot about a lot. She had such a radiant spirit and loved her family unconditionally. I miss her a lot

  2. Carolyn will be missed greatly in the Sunday school class and in church. As her Sunday school teacher she always added to the class with her comments and had a hug and smile for everyone. Carolyn’s Love of her family was expressed in her payers and request for the class to pray for them. Carolyn was in in church when her health permitted, singing and praising the Lord. Carolyn will be missed greatly and Jesus has welcomed her into. Heaven.

  3. Carolyn will be missed at Sunday school class and in church service. As her Sunday school teacher, she always added to the discussion in class and was loved by everyone. Carolyn’s love for her family was expressed in praying and requesting pray for them. When her health permitted she was in church, singing and praising the Lord. Carolyn will be missed greatly but Jesus has welcomed her into Heaven.

You became a second mom to me when I was in elementary school with Jewel and you and your family became mine for so many years I will always remember your kind heart and smile everytime I saw you. You will always have a place in my heart and I will miss you everyday until it is my turn so it isn’t goodbye its I will see you again

  5. Y’all are in my prayers and thoughts. I may not be there in body but in spirit I’ll always be there.

  6. I will always remember you and love you. I remember always being over your house everyday playing. It was fun growing up living very close to family. I will miss our talks and hugs.

  7. I don’t kno the words to say except I’m so sorry for the family’s lost I grew up with Elizabeth (Lizzie) she was a really sweet lady she will be deeply missed my prayers go out to y’all’s family ❤️❤️

  8. Oh my sweet aunt Carolyn! You are going to be missed so very much! It sucks that I didn’t get to know you through out my life time but was so very happy and lucky to get have gotten them chance to meet you and see you before this time of your has come! Even tho it was on terms of uncle Terrys passing I was blessed to get to hug ur neck and kiss you sweet warm cheeks! I wish I could of got to see you more and get to visit with you more and get more your greatest hugs! But untill we meet again I will keep your loving sweet hugs and memories deep within my heart! I love you and miss you sooo very much aunt Carolyn! Rest In Peace and fly high with the angles beautiful untill we meet again!
