Carrol Newcomb, 91 of Amarillo died Friday, February 16, 2024.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, I-40 and Whitaker, Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Carrol was born on August 13, 1932, in Clinton Oklahoma. He grew up in Butler and attended school there. He and his family moved to Amarillo in 1973 where he spent the remainder of his life.
Carrol’s profession was as a Chief Surveyor for the Bureau of Reclamation. He assisted on the Foss, Thunderbird, and Arbuckle Lakes in Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kent, and his beautiful wife, Helen.
Survivors include Joal Newcomb of Diamondhead, MS, Barbara and husband, Melvin of Canyon, TX, Jeff Newcomb, Linze and Heath Hunter, MyKayla Hunter and Jaxen, all of Amarillo, Justin Hunter, Ashli and Will of Fritch, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Pathfinders Sunday school class, St. Stephen Church, 4600 South Western Amarillo.
