Cathy Sue Shepherd

On Wednesday March 11, 2020, Cathy Sue Shepherd, a loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 59 in Amarillo, TX.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 16, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Cathy was born November 6, 1960 in West Virginia. She had four children and seven grandchildren who she loved fiercely and dedicated her life to. She spent ten years as a realtor for Coldwell Banker, and has spent the last 25 years as the proud owner and operator of Shepherd Cleaning and Make-Readies.

She also spent her time volunteering for Heal the City in Amarillo. She enjoyed being able to give back.

Cathy has a passion for cooking and loved when her big family would gather to eat her food.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially being by the water and fishing.

Cathy never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went with her infectious smile, quick wit, and compassionate nature.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Dorothy Guthridge; father, George Edward Adams Jr.; brother, George Edward Adams III (Eddie); daughter, Crystal Marie Kuykendall; and granddaughter, Phoenix Deborah Stephens.

She was survived by her son, Justin Shepherd; daughter, Elise Shepherd; daughter, Houston Shepherd; son-in-law, Shelby Stephens; sister, Mary Gates; sister Debbie Shank; aunt, Ann Frank; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  2. I love you Aunt Cathy , sorry I can’t attend your funeral. I would be there if I could. Just know we will meet again soon. If I would of known that a few months ago was gonna be my last time to ever see u again I would of made more time to talk!! Just keep looking over all of us!! And give Crystal and Phoenix a hug from all of us! Thanks for all the great memories I had with you for the first 14 years of my life. Till we meet again!!

  3. So sad to hear this. I have many good memories of Cathy when I lived in Canyon. She was a very caring and special person. My condolences to her family. RIP Cathy.

  4. I have so many good memories with Cathy. Whether we were goofing around dressing up for Halloween to bbq’ing for a random holiday. I will miss your cooking, your smiles and your humor. I will always think of you as my second mom. I love you! Rest In Peace.
