Charles Max “Chuck” Gutz, 79, of Amarillo, Texas died Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Services will be at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brian Hesse officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Joanna Gutz; his son, Mike Gutz and wife Leslie; his daughter, Cindy Dickerson and husband Scott; four grandchildren, Katelynn and Dylan Gutz, and Payton and Will Dickerson; and his brother, Tom Gutz.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Constance Gutz; his mother, Tillie; and his father, Wally Gutz.

Chuck was born on August 4, 1941, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Ewald “Wally” and Tillie Gutz. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1959 to 1964. On October 29, 1965, he married the love of his life, Joanna Rae Breidegan. Chuck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked for Sears as a Field Service Engineer for more than 34 years.

He will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and especially Papa.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember all the fun we had when we were very little. We played with all the cousins and had such fun . We all have been in different areas . I have been in touch with Tom or I wouldn’t have heard about Chuck. You have my deepest sympathy and prayers.

  4. Chuck was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. Always a smile and very loving. He had a strong faith and faced many health challenges with courage and strength. He will be missed. Sincere sympathy for the family.
