Chris Alaniz, 50, of Amarillo, died Thursday, October 7, 2021.

Rosary will be at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Deacon Rick Mendez celebrating.  Mass will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in St. Mary’s Cathedral with Fr. Tony Neusch celebrating.  Burial will follow at in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Hereford, Texas with Fr. Nestor Lara celebrating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Chris was born on April 27, 1971, in Hereford, Texas to Delores Yolanda Alaniz and Gerald Maurice Ricklefs.  He had been a truck driver for XPO Logistics.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald and grandfather, Gilbert Alaniz.

Chris will be loved and missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Ricklefs; son, Dayden Alaniz, both of Amarillo; grandmother, Gloria Alaniz of Hereford; sister, Victoria Ricklefs-Turner and husband Trenton; and two nephews, Payton Ricklefs-Turner and Gerald Ricklefs-Turner, all of Amarillo.

The family requests that everyone wear a mask to the rosary and mass.

  1. I loved you little firecracker ass on my pool team. You were a great shot and a blessing in my life and Daydens hero. You always made are bab b q s lively and im sure gonna miss you. You will have the best seats in the stadium watching those Broncos. You will be missed by so many and we will keep a watch over your baby. TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

Deloris and Victoria I love you both and please know I will always be there for you both. My prayers and deepest condolences to the entire family. Chris I love you my friend always!
